Why Wholly Surrender?

My name is Micah Mathis. I was born a PK and have had a relationship with Jesus Christ since I was 7 years old. I have lived my entire life in and through the church, and if I have come to know anything it is that the body of Christ is made up of imperfect, insecure, unworthy, wretched sinners of which I may be the worst. Still I have come to love the church. I long to it reach the lost, disciple the members, and above all worship the Father in spirit and in truth. It is why I exist. It is the purpose for my life.
Now before you get the wrong idea I just want to clarify that sometime I don’t, and often I forget or give up. I am certainly far from perfect in my pursuit of Christ and His ways. Still I can’t help but press on and press in. However, even on my best day my acts of surrender are but filthy rags before him. Still I know that He makes everything glorious and so I hold to the truth that I am included in His glory thanks to the blood of His son. Which leads me to the tag line and mission statement of this blog: He must increase, but I must decrease -John 3:30.
So I hope you fing Him in these pages. I hope you are encouraged to seek His face each day. I hope you find comfort in knowing you do not struggle alone. I hope most of all that you share Him with everyone you know.
