Sharing Jesus and a 3 Wood
Today I was blessed to be apart of my first CBC Bridge event. We had a golf tournament and the local country club. The turn out was great, with 14 teams and a solid mix of Christ followers and prospective disciples.
We started the day out with a standard sign in and cart assignment. Then however the tournament took a turn I had never experienced at such an event. One of our members shared a testimony about his redemption experience, and how much Christ has changed his life. Following that Pastor John shared the gospel and extended the opportunity for any present to accept Christ. No one professed on the spot, but we as the Word says:
Isaiah 55:11
So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
So we continued on with the door prize drawing and round of golf. Now some might say that the witnessing ended at that point, but I would strongly disagree. See on our team I was privileged to meet two great guys, Nick and Taylor. We talked, laughed, and even shared a 3 wood. It was real. It was relationship building. It was missional.
I know sharing clubs is nothing earth shattering, but I like to think that if Christ was playing golf and one of the members of His foursome was missing a club, He would have lent them His. Why? Because that was what He did. He talked with others, celebrated with others, served others, shared with others, and broke bread (or 3 Musketeers) with others.
So in conclusion, this day was awesome. Getting to share Christ while doing something you love. Nothing better. How can you share the love of Christ using your favorite pastime or hobby?
–Wholly Surrender!
