Belated Father’s Day Gift
Yesterday was Father’s Day and I hope you were able to spend time with your Father and/or children. Although Father’s Day is not exactly a religious or biblical holiday, I think it is very fitting that we celebrate holidays such as this on Sunday. As a Christian my Sundays have been set aside for a time to worship God and sabbath in His grace and mercies, the greatest of which, next to my salvation, is my family. So it is always nice to be able to take a Sunday and slow down to simply spend time with those we love most on this earth.
On a further note, Mark Driscoll and company at Mars Hill Church have released a free Father’s Day gift. He has made his booklet, Pastor Dad: Scriptural Insights on Fatherhood, available as a free download. Also if you want the actual bound book you can purchase a copy here.
I have been listening to Mark teach and preach for a while now and I testify that he is a great father and seeks to honor God with his entire life, including his family. So I am eager to read through his 45 page booklet on how to be a scriptural father.
I encourage all you men out there to check it out. If you have any responses to it you can post them below.
–Wholly Surrender!
