i am second
I found a website yesterday that enthralled me. I sat in front of my computer watching video after video after video. This new site speaks to the essence of this blog and its banner scripture. It is www.iamsecond.com. While the secondary premise of this site is slightly flawed, the primary premise of the site is that claiming that we are second in a “me first” society will beg the question of “Then who is first?” This site is an unbelievably powerful testimony to putting Christ first in every possible situation. They have believers sharing their personal struggles and stories of how they came to become “a second.” I guarantee that despite your personal story you will find someone like yourself on this site.
Some could argue the secondary premise of this site (us being second) is flawed in that we should be much further down the list than second (God, Family, Others, Church, etc… then Yourself). Still I think the primary message rings true, especially to unbelievers who know no other way than to put themselves first. The site has pastors, actors, athletes, musicians, prostitutes, mothers, daughters, sons, addicts, abusers, victims, and the list goes on. Names like Jason Castro, Darrell Waltrip, Brian Welch, Josh Hamilton, Stephen Baldwin, Joe Gibbs, Greg Ellis, and Tony Evans. All of them coming together to proclaim that Christ is first in their life. What a beautiful and moving picture of grace and love.
I would encourage you to check it out, if you are like me you will be on the site for hours watching the testimonies of the Lord’s greatness.
