  • As natural as breathing.

The Air I BreatheAs I have grown older I have started reading quite a bit more. Maybe it is because I no longer have to read teacher prescribed texts, but either way I am thoroughly enjoying it. Most of my reading these days revolves around discipleship, Christian living, or worship. One of my current readings is The Air I Breathe by Louie Giglio. It is a short read, but extremely insightful.

Louie offers fantastic insight into why as believers we should long to live a day-to-day life of worship. He reveals how God created us for the sole purpose of glorifying Him in everything we do. That is why worshipping is as natural as breathing for us. We need it. We crave it. We can’t live without it.

Our worship needs an outlet. If it is not directed toward God it will be directed at less worthy things – money, work, sex, toys, self. It is so easy to head down that road. It is wide and smooth and inviting. It is full of enticing idols all of which in the end, pale in comparison to the greatness of knowing the father. After all when you read Revelation what does it say we will be doing for all eternity? Worshipping!
